Michelman appoints laboratory supervisor

Michelman has announced the hiring of Christophe Maertens in the new position of laboratory supervisor at the company's Aubange, Belgium facility. The addition of Maertens is expected to enhance customer technical service through streamlined project management and improved communication across the company's global technology team.

Michelman's European laboratory has far-reaching responsibilities including delivering customer support, improving manufacturing processes, and new product initiatives. ‘Now with the addition of Mr Maertens, we're poised to best serve our growing European business activity,’ according to Peter Roggeman, EMEA commercial Director at Michelman. ‘Christophe has a stellar reputation and our customers will reap the rewards of his extensive background and experience. We're fortunate to have him on our team.’

Maertens joins Michelman from ExxonMobil Chemical Films Europe (EMCFE). There he served as a product development engineer and commercial development technologist, managing a multitude of flexible packaging application projects. Maertens was educated at the University of Liege in Belgium where he received his PhD in Polymer Chemistry.

Michelman's Aubange facility was opened in 1990 and is strategically located in the center of industrialized Europe. It serves the established European markets as well as the emerging East European, Russian, Mediterranean, EU-nation and North African regions.
