Pulse announces series of appointments

Ink manufacturer, Pulse Roll Label Products has made several appointments to meet its plans for expansion and increasing demand for products in both the home and export markets.

Stephen Boman joins the company as laboratory manager. He will be responsible for managing the technical team, new product development and quality control. Boman has worked in Australia and New Zealand in ink and automotive paint manufacturing and has held key positions at Flint Inks, Sicpa, Intercolor and BASF. He holds a Diploma in surface coatings technology from AIT, New Zealand.

Colin Dixon has been appointed operation manager with overall responsibility for plant and manufacturing activities. He holds an MSc in manufacturing leadership from Lancaster University. His career history includes lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. Dixon held key management positions at the Impress Packaging Group and Unite Group.

Darren Hallett (pictured, top) has been named export technical sales manager. He will be responsible for customer sales, technical support and expanding the company’s distribution channels world-wide. Hallett formerly held research, product development and technical support roles with both Bousfield and ECS (Nottingham) Ltd.

Chris Price will take the position of product manager, responsible for coordinating activities between technical sales and marketing through customer trials and technical support, product recommendations, presentations and data sheet production. Price joined Pulse in 2000 and has since held several key positions within the company. He holds a Masters degree (M.Phil.) in biotechnology and a B.Sc. in biological chemistry from the University of Leicester.

Managing director Gary Seward commented: ‘The move to our new factory last year highlighted several areas of our operation where sales and manufacturing could be streamlined. These key appointments are the result and will meet with our objectives to be a key solutions provider to the industry and increase export sales.’
