Smyth Companies names VP of continuous improvement

Smyth Companies has hired David Buchholz, pictured, to fill the company’s newly created position of vice president – continuous improvement. Among other initiatives, Buchholz will lead the company’s continuing implementation of Lean manufacturing practices.


‘We recognized that we needed a corporate champion in order to continue on our path of continuous improvement, as well as sustaining those improvements that have already been made,’ said Jim Lundquist, president of Smyth. ‘David will bring a wealth of valuable experience and expertise to the effort.’


In addition to his duties surrounding continuous improvement, Buchholz will be leading Smyth’s corporate efforts in safety, environmental protection, employee training, talent acquisition and new business integration.


Buchholz has previously held executive positions at Topflight Corporation, Moore Corporation, Kimberly Clark and Avery Dennison.
