Western Shield appoints director of operations

US converter Western Shield Label Company has appointed Kirk Miltimore to the newly created position of director of operations.
Miltimore comes from a variety of manufacturing industries including aerospace and automotive. He has a strong background in operations with an emphasis on Lean and Six Sigma techniques. In his new role, Miltimore will develop and implement a metrics-based focus with the production team. His background and education will enable Western Shield to make continuous improvements in waste reduction and begin the implementation of Lean processes.

His background in Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma will enable Western Shield to increase efficiency and cut costs while maintaining our industry-beating lead times and excellent quality.’
Miltimore holds a BS in Business Management from the University of Washington and is certified in Six Sigma from the University of Texas. He has held positions as regional director of operations for diverse companies such as B/E Aerospace, Flowserve, Black & Decker, Boeing and GM.
