Chengdu Xingraphics, a China-based manufacturer of CtP thermal plates, has appointed Paul Rudman as its European technical manager. Rudman was formerly product manager for MCSI Mitsubishi Corporation and Printing Techniques.

The company says that the appointment of Rudman is part of a long-term strategy to impact the European market, with further investment set to include local warehouse and distribution facilities.

Xingraphics recently launched a chemical-free thermal plate, Fit Eco, which uses thermal laser energy to convert the image area to become ink receptive – the remaining coating does not need to be processed on the press and remains on the substrate and is water receptive.

Paul Rudman said: ‘Joining an innovative company that has the consistent and high quality products needed to compete in European markets against the big three manufactures was a key factor; and being part of a customer focused team was essential to achieving success. At last the industry has a real alternative.’
