US converter enjoys EskoArtwork HD Flexo certification

US converter Model Graphics received HD Flexo certification from EskoArtwork last year. Now the company, which produces labels, flexible film, tags, design services and automated labeling equipment, reports ‘excellent quality’ with the technology in combination with a Nilpeter FA press and Dupont Cyrel equipment.
‘We are presenting products to the market we could never have considered just months ago,’ said Steve Fleissner, president and founder of Model Graphics. ‘We were told by Esko we would be printing at a level that would rival offset and gravure. We have had customers and suppliers agree after seeing the finished products.’
The adoption of EskoArtwork technology came during the difficult economic conditions of last year, when many companies were struggling for credit. Model Graphics appointed a consultant to find a new bank, which resulted in an investment of nearly USD $2 million.
Model Graphics employs 40 people and serves clients in the health and beauty, industrial and hardware, home goods, various food and beverage manufacturers and packers, distributors and co-packers in the American Midwest.
The company has used its investment in the EskoArtwork system to create an innovative offer to clients. ‘Give us an order you currently purchase and if the quality is not improved over your current product, pay nothing and keep the printed HD Flexo work at no charge,’ Fleissner said. ‘There are an estimated 4,000-5,000 narrow web flexo converters in North America, so you have to be creative to stay ahead of the curve and have an offer that can’t be ignored.’
