The Printing Charity, a UK charity for the printing, publishing, graphic arts and allied trades, is offering cash grants of up to GBP £250 each to help print workers and their families affected by the recent floods in Yorkshire and Northumberland.

The grants, which are not means-tested, are available for people who work or have worked for three years in any organization that produces a printed output, whatever their job – including printing, publishing, operating presses, through to making ink and recycling paper.

Stephen Gilbert, chief executive of The Printing Charity, said: ‘The grants are to help people whose possessions have been damaged or who have had to evacuate their homes. There are no restrictions on how the money can be spent – from new clothes to a meal out to help relieve the pressure on families in temporary accommodation.’

To apply, download an application form at www.theprintingcharity.org.uk or contact Henry Smith, grants officer at The Printing Charity on 01293 542 820 or email henry@theprintingcharity.org.uk.
