Procemex joins PrintCity

PrintCity has introduced new member Procemex, a supplier of camera based web monitoring & web inspection systems to the alliance and its publishing, commercial & web activities.

Procemex is a machine vision company based in Jyvskyl, Finland, and since 1990 the same core team has been providing image processing innovations for troubleshooting paper related processes. This technology is today also being used by many of the leading web offset and gravure printers in Europe, says the company.

Procemex is a specialist in filming and analyzing web breaks, web defects and in general printing press runnability problems. It helps its customers solve printing press efficiency concerns relating to paper, process and machinery.

This is done by combining innovative camera based technology, both for improving printing press efficiency and inspecting paper quality. This capability is a valuable strength helping Procemex to expand its activities in the world of printing in 2007 and 2008. 

Mika Valkonen, managing director of Procemex, said, ‘We expanded our activities three-to-four years ago from paper into printing and see that there is need for deeper understanding of the root causes of gravure and web offset printing problems.

‘One of the reasons for joining PrintCity is to gain more experience in the whole printing process. What could be a better environment to deepen, and in return, to share your knowledge, than this type of cooperation with the experts in all key areas of printing?’

Procemex has confirmed that it will participate at drupa 2008 within PrintCity in hall 6.
