Prontaprint Franchise installs first HP Indigo press
The first HP Indigo press to be bought by a Prontaprint franchise – a seven-color HP Indigo press 3050 – has been installed at Prontaprint York.
For Prontaprint York, which opened its doors a year ago, the acquisition of a digital press represents significant development and demonstrates foresight, ambition and a determination to penetrate the digital print market. Since the installation of the HP Indigo press 3050, Prontaprint York has generated an increase in business, attracting new customers every week.
‘We wanted a top-end digital press for personalized, short-run work servicing the local area,’ said Peter McFarlane, director, Prontaprint York. ‘The wide variety of substrates the HP Indigo press 3050 offers allows us to develop new solutions for our customers, maximizing their ROI. After initially running dry toner based digital presses, we searched for a digital press that could offer customers optimum print quality and a range of innovative solutions facilitated by wide substrate availability and seven color printing process. Additionally, the personalization and variable data features and the option to print up to seven colors, set the HP Indigo press 3050 apart from its competitors.’
The press is being used to produce work for local businesses, including personalized direct mail, brochures, booklets business cards, with print runs ranging from as low as 10 to up to 2,500 (A3 sheets). Prontaprint York recently completed jobs for Nestle and a local Mercedes Benz dealership – with the HP Indigo press 3050 enabling Prontaprint to match the Nestle Kit Kat red and Mercedes Benz's brand colors to corporate standard.
‘Prontaprint York's investment signifies the increasing demand for high quality digital print across the board,’ said Paul Randall, marketing manager UK & Ireland, HP, Indigo Digital Press. ‘Whether we are talking about a worldwide print service provider or a local outlet, customers are demanding faster turnaround times, cost-effective and innovative solutions, but with an emphasis on quality. HP Indigo presses can meet these demands and as Prontaprint York demonstrates, can provide a worthwhile investment for smaller businesses.’
