- Drupa big expense for suppliers but adjustments to help contain costs and keep participation level higher

- Schedule adjustment responds to consolidation in the market, and maintains capacity to handle number of visitors

QuadTech president Karl Fritchen said the decision to keep Drupa to a four-year cycle, but reduce the show’s duration to 11 days, will help maintain the event’s attraction to international exhibitors.

Other major suppliers to the package printing market have likewise welcomed the news, which was announced yesterday (November 5).

Fritchen said: ‘I feel that the move made to keep the show on a four-year cycle and reduce it to 11 days is positive.

‘The show is a big expense for the suppliers in the industry and adjustments like this will help to contain some of those costs and keep the participation level higher.’

Consolidation and flexibility
Fritchen added: ‘We are seeing a considerable amount of consolidation in various parts of the industry as well, so this type of schedule adjustment will still provide the capacity needed to handle the number of visitors from around the world and maintain flexibility for their schedules over an 11-day period.’
