Queensland floods impact label printers

Disaster has hit label printers in Brisbane, Towoomba, Ipswich and other affected cities during the current catastrophic flood situation in north east Australia.
The Brisbane factory of major print group Geon has had to be evacuated while the Queensland office of Printing Industries PIA) also braced itself as floodwaters rose to unprecedented heights.
Flooding has severely affected a number of label printers in Brisbane which include Railings Print Group, Ultra Labels and equipment supplier Label Power Australia.
Production has been severely curtailed as power cuts have had to be imposed, telephone lines severely affected as staff are battling to save their household belongings and supply lines for paper and other essentials are drastically reduced.
Go Print general manager Michael Rowe was one of many print executives who reported operating with a skeleton staff with the majority of the workforce attending to the danger to their homes.
So far the Queensland floods have claimed the lives of 15 people with over 60 unaccounted for.
