RSI ID Technologies (RSI), has announced production of EPC compliant Gen2 labels, making them one of the first companies to market with a Gen2 product.
RSI is leveraging their assembly line machinery and new patented processes to integrate Gen2 silicon chips into EPC compliant labels.  RSI is using silicon chips from Impinj, Inc., the exclusive provider of Self-Adaptive Silicon technology.  RSI’s in-house capabilities enable the company to pair the Gen2 silicon chip with an antenna, assemble the two components into an inlay and convert the inlays into Gen2 compliant, pressure-sensitive labels.   The company claims that these labels are the first to fully support all features of the Gen 2 specification.
RSI CEO Wolf Bielas says, “We are proud to be a pioneer in the RFID market with Gen2 product.  Our labels will be the benchmark for all the Gen2 products that follow.  Our capacity for antenna design, manufacturing, converting, verification and integration to the end user, gives RSI the ability to provide the best value and most flexible solution to meet our customer’s needs. “
RSI showed the Gen2 product at the RFID Journal LIVE! tradeshow in Chicago and is accepting orders for volume production in Q3 of 2005.
