Russia’s Labelshow gears up for 2008

Held 7-10 October at Moscow's new Crocus Expo Exhibition Center, the biennial Labelshow is changing to meet the growing needs of the Russian labeling and packaging industry. Building on from twelve previous shows, Labelshow 2008 will feature a broad spectrum of materials, machinery, equipment and technologies for label printing and product marking across 6,000 square meters of hall space.
Exhibitors from around the world will promote everything from self-adhesive labelstock, through label design, dies, plates, inks, and other ancillaries, to presses, application equipment, and product security and logistics. Russia's label converters will make up the core of the exhibition and present a showcase of print excellence for the benefit of end-user visitors.
Companies who have already booked space at this year's exhibition include Avery Dennison Roll Materials Europe, BST International Gmbh, Esanastri S.R.L, Erhardt + Leimer, UPM Raflatac OY, Mikado, Alexander Braun, Variant P, Polygraphspectr, Okil, Imagency Print, Global Printing Systems Ltd and others.
Alongside the show, organizers MVK International Exhibition Company are holding an international conference on label design, branding and trademark developments.
The exhibition also hosts three industry-related competitions - GrandEtiket 2008, the established Russian label competition; Sweetbox 2008, which rewards imaginative 'packaging' concepts for confectionery from Russian school children; and Ecomarking - a new competition to find the best symbol indicating that packaging is made from environmentally friendly materials and recyclable.
Exhibition director Natalya Lomunova said: 'Half the available floor space is already spoken for, so I advise potential exhibitors to book their stands as now.'
