Russian converter OKIL installs Codimag VIVA 340 Waterless
The latest Codimag VIVA 340 Waterless has been successfully installed at OKIL in St Petersburg, and has started production around the clock. The company is the first in Russia to install a VIVA 340 Waterless with 10 modules. The combination VIVA 340 has waterless offset, letterpress, rotary screen, flexo, hot stamping and laminating capabilities. The press is dedicated to short and medium runs for the beverage market, but also for the health and beauty market.
According to a representative from OKIL, ‘the main advantages of the new press are rapid make-ready from one type of job to another, high print quality and low cost of preparation.’
Codimag has been active on the Russian market for two years now, with St-Petersburg-based distributor Polygraphspectr, and has made five installations in the last 18 months.
‘The label market in Russia and CIS states is growing very fast,’ said Pierre Panel, export sales engineer at Codimag. ‘The label market in Russia has been flooded with flexo presses for the last five years and printers are now looking for solutions to differentiate from other printers. Offset brings them higher print quality, and intermittent-feed technology brings efficiency in job change.’
