Schleipen & Erkens invests in release liner technology

Schleipen & Erkens AG has commissioned new coating machinery for the production of silicone-coated release liners in an investment valued at €3 million. The new line has a working width of up to 2.35 metres.

Under its corporate brand name of S E Release, Schleipen & Erkens AG (S E) has now invested around €5M at its sites in Jlich, Germany and Silicart S.p.A. in Bologna, Italy.

‘By expanding our machinery capabilities, we are responding to the demands of our customers for thinner and lighter papers,’ says Dr Jrgen Schfer, spokesman for the managing board at S E. ‘The goal of the investments is to be able to provide customers with even more application-specific solutions. In other words, an increase in production volume is not the primary focus, but rather product specialisation.’
