Sherwood Technology enters licensing agreement with Rad-Cure

Sherwood Technology, the color change specialist, has announced a collaboration with Rad-Cure, the ultra-violet curable coatings, adhesives and specialty inks manufacturer. The agreement sees Rad-Cure marketing a range of inks produced from Sherwood's patented color-change chemistry, DataLase, via a non-exclusive supply license agreement. The agreement will enable the New Jersey based company to make DataLase branded inks available to their global market, as part of a total printing and marking solution to a wide range of market sectors including pharmaceutical and food and beverage applications, labels, flexible packaging, paper and board packaging.
Rad-Cure serves diverse markets with its range of printing inks including labeling, glass decorating, graphic arts, automotive, telecommunications and high performance industrial coatings, making it a perfect partner for Sherwood Technology. Under the terms of the agreement, the two companies will add significant value through a combination of Sherwood's expertise in laser responsive color change chemistry and Rad-Cure's experience ofmanufacturing inks, coatings and adhesives.

DataLase combines chemistry, substrate conversion and laser energy, using very low power laser light for the high speed printing of images. DataLase is a precise, non-contact alternative to traditional printing methods, providing an infinite array of solutions, for example virtual labelling, anti-counterfeiting and graphics. It is completely flexible and is equally suitable for metal decoration, flexible packaging, paper, board and plastics.
