Shuttleworth director cycles for Cancer Research UK
Shuttleworth Business Systems’ joint managing director Andy King is set to cycle his way around more than 108km’s of arduous South African hillside in a bid to raise money on behalf of Cancer Research UK.
Mr King, who is a member of the Welland Valley Wheelers Cycle Club, will join some 35,000 other cyclists in Cape Town, South Africa on 12th March to take part in the Cape Argus Cycle Race.
‘Cancer can affect one in three of the population and so I believe it is important to support those that are dedicated to reducing the risks that the disease brings. It will be tough going but I’ve been training since last September so I am as ready as I’ll ever be, and I am hoping to raise as much sponsorship as possible,’ said Mr King.
To aid his sponsorship quest, Dell Computers has donated a top of the range Personal Digital Assistant to whichever sponsor most accurately estimates his completion time for the race.
