Smag plans factory extension

Smag, manufacturer of screen printing and finishing equipment for the roll label and packaging sectors, plans a major extension to its factory near Paris.

Sales director Stphane Rateau said: ‘Demand has been running high for all our range, and particularly for our flagship model the Galaxie semi-rotary screen press. We had a fantastic show at Labelexpo Europe this year with ten machines sold during the show itself, and several more as a result of visits to our stand. Total orders in 2007 were so good we feared a production bottleneck. But then by a fortunate coincidence we were able to acquire a building right next to our existing site. This will give us a further 2,000 meters squared of production space.’

Work is going ahead at full speed to prepare the new building which is scheduled to be operational by the second quarter of 2008.
