Smart Packaging conference flies

Smart Packaging 2004, the conference and tabletop exhibition taking place on 8-9 September at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, Chicago, USA, has attracted brand owners such as Dupont, Kraft Foods, and Procter & Gamble.


The two-day keynote conference has been developed in co-operation with the IoPP (Institute of Packaging Professionals).  John Hayward, Hewlett Packard, will give the keynote address on 'The future of the supply chain and the importance of smart packaging in containing costs ­ and enhancing the consumer experience'.  The program aims to educate and inform packaging, labeling, printing and security specialists in the latest smart packaging systems, solutions and applications, with presentations covering Smart Packaging in the realm of a private enterprise; Securing sports brands and licensing programs with innovative print technology; New developments in security packaging films; and Effective track and trace in the supply chain ­ adding security with RFID.  Key speakers include: Denis Picard, Du Pont Authentication Systems; Jim Jonza, 3M Security Market Center; and Chris Hook, Zebra Technologies.


Running alongside the conference program will be a table top exhibition of leading suppliers, including Acucote Inc; CP Films Inc; Creo Inc; Drent Goebel; Jordan Products Co; Product & Image Security Foundation; Trustcopy USA; and William Frick & Co.


All delegates to Smart Packaging 2004 will benefit from free entrance to Labelexpo Americas, taking place the following week, September 13-16, at the same venue, where they will be able to see working machinery and live demonstrations of intelligent products and related technology and equipment.
