Hands-on G7 for Flexography
February 10-12
Jay Sperry and industry experts offer a hands-on review and application of the Near-Neutral Calibration Procedure and G7 methodology for a flexographic workflow. A new format for Clemson, this session begins on February 10th at 4:00 with a keynote presentation on G7’s Application to Color Workflow, Proofing, and Production Control followed by a networking social. Attendees move in specified groups on February 11th through sessions including ink certification, plate calibration, pressroom optimization and characterization, RIP configuration, color separation, proofing, and finally the production of a ‘live’ job. Groups reconvene on February 12th to review hands-on activities and results, and discuss next steps for implementation within their companies color workflow, ending at 11:00 for same day travel.
Brand Color Management
March 17-18
This will be the third running of the Brand Color Management program, updated based on feedback from previous events, and enhanced to present current challenges and opportunities of managing brand colors across printing processes and substrates. This program mixes presentations from consumer product companies, color separators, printers and converters, and solutions vendors with hands-on breakout sessions for determining color tolerances and Delta E, managing expectations and proofing, and inks and substrates.
Digital Proofing for Packaging
March 19-20
The Digital Proofing Seminar has evolved over several offerings to promote understanding and best practices of applying successful digital proofing systems for the packaging workflow. Attendees learn the essential questions and evaluation criteria for advanced package proofing systems, followed by a hands-on review of multiple technologies proofing a common press target. This session also introduces a brand new component on color managed package prototyping, both in tangible and electronic formats.
Seven-Color Process Printing
June 2-4
With the arrival of state-of-the-art package printing equipment in the US market and within the Sonoco Institute, a hybrid seminar is offered highlighting business and technological opportunities for seven-color process printing throughout the packaging workflow. Expert presentations educate attendees on the workflow, opportunities, and challenges of considering, implementing, and profiting from a seven-color workflow. Hands-on sessions use pressroom and prepress equipment to illustrate and evaluate this advanced color system and workflow.
