Stora Enso announces price increases

Stora Enso Speciality Papers has announced price increases for its European customers of five per cent for their wet strength label papers and flexible packaging papers for deliveries as of January 1st, 2006.

In a statement, the company said: 'This increase is necessary in order to compensate for the significant rise of costs, especially with respect to energy and oil based raw materials. At the same time, drastic actions are being taken to significantly reduce fixed costs. The increase is necessary to maintain the high level of product reliability, service and future oriented R&D innovations.'

Stora Enso’s sales personnel will be in direct contact with customers shortly to discuss the full implementation of this increase.
