Stork launches heat-activated anilox cleaner
Anilox roll manufacturer, Stork Materials Technology has announced the commercial availability of Stork HA (Heat Activated) cleaner. The new cleaner is the product of nearly two years in research and development, culminating in a chemistry that the company claims to be more effective than other anilox cleaners.
Stork HA Cleaner is heat activated. At temperatures at or around 140 degrees Fahrenheit, elements of the cleaning chemistry are activated. Once activated, these elements penetrate hardened masses of ink pigment and soften the resin structure. This penetrating and softening, combined with the scrubbing action of the ultrasonic cavitation, allegedly dislodges embedded inks. The cleaner is also very effective when used with heated soak tanks and heated pressure washers.
Stork claims that, compared to conventional ultrasonic cleaning solutions, it shows a significant increase in anilox volume restoration ability and that heavily plugged rolls were consistently restored to 100 per cent of original volume. The Stork HA Cleaner was also engineered for the high line screen (up to 2000 LPI) anilox rolls being used today.
