Two pressure sensitive label materials from the Fasson Roll North America division of Avery Dennison have been qualified for use in the Epson SecurColor printer for printing in healthcare applications.

The SecurColor addresses the specific needs of color printing in healthcare applications, such as specimen labels, patient wristbands, prescription labels and patient meal tickets, among others.

‘We're pleased Epson has qualified the use of these Fasson pressure-sensitive grades for its SecurColor inkjet printers,’ said Gary Deans, technical marketing manager, Fasson Roll North America. ‘Healthcare environments are highly specialized and demanding. Choosing the right label material is as critical for patient safety as it is for clinical operations.’

The label materials qualified by Epson have been engineered to meet exacting healthcare application requirements for exposure to moisture, solvents, extreme temperature changes and sterilization conditions. The first product is Fasson Matte White Inkjet Medical Film: an opaque-white matte finish, designed for tight mandrel applications one-half inch diameter or greater. It is solvent resistant, tested for autoclave conditions, and suitable for refrigerated and frozen conditions. It is water resistant and glove-friendly.

The second material to be qualified is Fasson Matte Inkjet Medical Paper: a white matte finish, designed for tight mandrel applications one-half inch diameter or greater, tested for autoclave conditions, suitable for refrigerated and frozen conditions, and glove-friendly.
