Channeled Resources Group has won the Global Green Award, presented at the Gather on the Green feature area of Labelexpo Americas, for its fuel pellets and
desiliconized pulp submissions.

Gather on the Green, sponsored by Xeikon, showcases
products and initiatives that reduce the label and packaging
industries’ environmental footprint. Participants submitted an application to be reviewed by a panel of judges. Criteria reviewed
included pollution prevention, leadership, adaptability, environmental and
economical benefits and innovation.

The most prominent environmental issue of the
industry is the waste and landfill of pressure sensitive label material and
liner. Channeled Resources Group is contracted to find all material for
Greenwood Fuel, which converts pressure sensitive matrix waste into pellets used
for energy
.

The company has also uncovered a way to recycle and re-pulp
silicone coated release liner. Currently, 100 percent of the global industry
liner goes into landfill. It already has run 1,000 tons and has a goal set to
run 20,000 tons each year by 2015.

The judges chose Channeled Resources Group as the winner
due to the importance to the industry of its waste-to-energy and liner recycling programs, initiatives that suit Procter &
Gamble and Wal-Mart’s sustainability scorecards.

More information can be obtained from Cindy White or Calvin
Frost on the Channeled Resources booth #1211, where Greenwood Fuels is also
present.
