Henkel announces price increases

With immediate effect, or as existing contracts allow, Henkel has increased the prices for certain product groups of its packaging, consumer goods and construction adhesives in Europe by 10 to 15 percent, depending on the product category.

The price increases are said to be due to supply pressures and rising costs for raw materials and packaging.

Henkel’s packaging, consumer goods and construction adhesives segment mainly delivers a broad portfolio of hotmelt, polyurethane and water-based solutions for packaging, labeling, paper converting, tissue and towel, tapes, hygiene products, graphic arts as well as building and furniture.

‘With continuous improvements in our business efficiency we have been doing all we can to cope with these upstream cost increases. However, we have reached a point where increasing our adhesive price is unavoidable if we are to continue delivering the same high quality product and service standards expected by our customers,’ said Henkel’s Jean Fayolle, corporate senior vice president, packaging, consumer goods and construction adhesives.
