Klockner Pentaplast Group plans to enhance its production capabilities in the European market with a 40 million euro (USD $54 million) investment in new manufacturing equipment. The company says that the investment will allow it to optimize capacity and streamline production processes for its shrink-label films, food, thermoforming, boxmaking, adhesive tape and decorative surfaces business segments.

The new machinery has been ordered and will begin production in early 2011. The company’s German facilities in Kempten and Graben-Neudorf will not be closed until the new machinery is operational and film from those lines has been qualified by the customers. The closure of its site in Muri, Switzerland, is possible, says the company.
