Mondi, one of the leading global packaging and paper manufacturers, has maintained the top ‘A’ scores for forestry and water security in this year’s CDP disclosures.

The scores confirmed Mondi’s leading practices in both categories, securing a place on CPD’s annual ‘A List’, from a field of nearly 15,000 companies scored. Mondi has also achieved an A-score in climate change.

‘We are pleased to be included in CDP’s A List for forestry and water security again. Mondi is committed to continue to source fiber responsibly and safeguard water resources in our operations and beyond as we deliver on our Net-Zero ambition,’ commented Gladys Naylor, group head of sustainable development at Mondi.

CDP is an internationally recognized independent sustainability benchmarking platform for environmental disclosures, supporting companies, cities, states and regions to measure and manage their risks and opportunities on climate change, water security and deforestation.

CDP’s annual environmental disclosure and scoring process is widely recognized as the gold standard of corporate environmental transparency. In 2022, over 680 investors with over 130 trillion USD in assets and 280 major purchasers with 6.4 trillion USD in procurement spend requested companies to disclose data on environmental impacts, risks and opportunities through CDP’s platform.

Recently, Mondi was scored as No. 6 out of almost 400 global companies assessed in the first ever nature benchmark ‘2022 Nature Benchmark’ by the World Benchmarking Alliance (WBA). Mondi also leads the list of 26 global containers and packaging companies analysed as the only company that reached an overall score of over 40. The benchmark acknowledges Mondi’s strong performance and leading practices, such as tackling key biodiversity pressures and holistic stakeholder engagement.
