Neenah restoring operations after tornado

Neenah Paper, a Mativ brand and paper manufacturer, reports that significant progress has been made restoring warehouse and distribution operations, following a tornado that damaged one of its third-party distribution centers. Neenah’s manufacturing sites avoided damage and have remained fully operational. 

On July 27, a tornado hit the Menasha and Appleton, Wisconsin area, causing widespread damage to buildings and power outages. The National Weather Service categorized the event as a severe EF-3 tornado. The storm impacted a third-party distribution center in Menasha that housed Neenah materials. 

‘There was significant damage to the distribution facility itself and to the inventory inside,’ said Cindy Mottern, director of marketing communications and design solutions at Mativ. ‘Since then, our team has been working with our third-party partner to safely restore distribution capabilities and minimize disruption for our customers.' 

In the immediate aftermath of the tornado, Neenah swiftly restructured its distribution capabilities and resumed shipping customer orders within days. 

‘Progress is being made every day,’ Mottern said. ‘We’re truly thankful for the coordination and cross-functional efforts of the Neenah Paper and Packaging teams to improve product availability to our customers.’
