Success for Labels & Labeling and Green Bay Packaging webinar

Labels & Labeling and Green Bay Packaging co-hosted over 100 people for their Understanding FSC and SFI Certification webinar last week.

Jason Metnick of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative and Corey Brinkema from the Forest Stewardship Council US helped listeners gain a better understanding of the benefits of becoming certified; while Michael Lyon from Bureau Veritas Certification North America walked listeners through the logistics of the certification process.

The highlight of the webinar was the presentation by Warren Werbitt of Pazazz Label Printing – an FSC certified printer. Werbitt gave his fellow converters true insight into the forestry certification process and provided the audience with his reasons for taking the steps to make his company certified. Over 80 percent of attendees said that the webinar helped them to gain a much stronger understanding of forestry certification.

The event was Labels & Labeling's first webinar, and organizer Danielle Jerschefske said that more will follow in due course: ‘We are very excited about the positive response that we’ve received from the industry. Forestry certification is an important topic right now and L&L and Green Bay Packaging wanted to educate the industry on the potential paradigm shift. Currently we are working on future webinars to include more sessions on environmental issues, new technology seminars and global converter panel discussions.’
