Surfscan enters Spanish market with vision system

Vision inspection company Surfscan Technologies has appointed an agent in Spain. Converpack, which also represents IMS Deltamatic, Hcker Polytechnik, Airtec, SMS Material Handling and Allimand in Spain, expects to make a breakthrough sale in the country before the end of the year.

Hector Velasquez, who runs Converpack, has confidence in the technical attributes of Surfscan’s 100 percent inspection Check branded systems portfolio. Converpack is the latest agent to have been appointed by the Wales-based company following on from Germany and the USA.

‘The market situation in Spain is currently very uncertain. Some companies have decided not to invest until the situation is better defined or improved. Others will continue with their plans,’ says Velasquez. ‘In the flexible packaging market there are around 30 important companies with more than 80 employees. I expect to have a reference sale in Spain soon and then, I believe, the quality of this equipment will speak for itself.’
