The Environmentally Friendly Printers Association (efpa) has been recognized and supported by an independent, non-profit organization. The Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) is responsible for maintaining, overseeing and improving an internationally recognized sustainable forestry certification program. It is the largest single forest standard in the world.

In a recent letter to efpa, SFI stated: ‘When it comes to use of paper products used by efpa certified facilities, SFI applauds the efpa for ensuring the paper is certified under a credible forest certification program like the SFI program. efpa is following along with other credible organizations who understand that only 10 percent of the world’s forests are certified to any certification standards. efpa is a growing association and is always trying to better their printing certification program while at the same time making it affordable to printers and print consumers. We are happy to have the support of SFI.’

efpa requires paper from certified sources such as SFI, as well as papers containing at least 10 percent post consumer waste.
