UPM Raflatac’s RafCycle recycling service has won the silver Sustainable Packaging Design of the Year 2023 award at the Australasian Packaging Innovation & Design (PIDA) Awards. The announcement came on March 28 at the PIDA Awards Gala Dinner.

The PIDA awards are designed to recognize companies and individuals who are making a significant difference in their field across Australia and New Zealand.

RafCycle recycling service is a label release liner waste recycling. By collecting and recycling the release liner waste through RafCycle, companies can close the recycling loop and support a circular economy.

'In addition to the award committee, we want to thank all our RafCycle partner companies for the collaboration and making this possible. The award is a proof that in the market there is a need for solutions that support circular economy while at the same time bring positive business impacts,’ said Juha Virmavirta, director of RafCycle Solutions at UPM Raflatac.

UPM Raflatec offers high-quality self-adhesive paper and film products. The company operates 12 factories and deliver their sustainable products through a global network of distribution terminals.
