Xeikon customer awarded Austrian Eco-Label

Reprozwlf, an Austrian repro-house and long-standing client of Xeikon, will be granted permission to use the Austrian eco-label or ‘sterreichische Umweltzeichen’ for printing activities involving the use of a Xeikon 5000 and FA toner. Products or services carrying the label have less impact on the environment while achieving the same level of service as other products or services on the market. The eco-label will be officially awarded on May 7 at the ko Print Forum 2009, a technical conference on the importance of eco-friendly printing, organized by VFG (Verein Forschung fr die graphischen Medien, the Austrian research society for the printing industry) and Print & Publishing.
‘Our efforts to achieve this hallmark tie in perfectly with our company’s philosophy,’ explained Marius Spannbauer, managing director and one of the founders of the company. ‘We strive to provide the highest possible quality, keeping abreast of new technology and innovations in our industry. And we believe that in today’s environment, achieving the best possible quality and customer service requires a sustainable, ecologically responsible approach.’
Jos Vancoppernolle, chief sales officer at Punch Graphix, commented: ‘We hope Reprozwlf’s example encourages more of our customers to apply for this eco-label. This time it has been granted for the combination of a Xeikon 5000 and FA toner, but all commercially available Xeikon engine and toner combinations should meet the Austrian eco-label criteria. And not only the Austrian criteria, our presses and consumables are compliant with several eco-label criteria, the Nordic Swan label, for one.’
‘The fact that our technology complies with the stringent criteria imposed by the “Umweltzeichen” is recognition of our continuous efforts towards sustainable innovation and development,’ said Lode Deprez, vice president Toner & Developer Group at Punch Graphix. ‘Green thinking and environmental sustainability is an integral part of our business processes, from concept and design to manufacturing and logistics.’
