TDC appointed distributor of Texas Instruments’ RFID range

TDC has added Texas Instruments’ full range of RFID products which provide an economical tracking solution for a wide variety of industries including logistics, retail, finance, automotive and security. The appointment extends a six year relationship on semiconductor products between Texas Instruments and Abacus Group, TDC’s parent company.


Texas Instruments’ RFID solutions, available now from TDC, provide batteryless automatic data and information collecting solutions for a vast array of diverse applications from anti-counterfeiting, asset tracking, animal identification and tracking, payment kiosks, laundry identification to tracking library books.


‘TDC has a recognised expertise in wireless technology and we are pleased to appoint them as a distributor of our RFID products,’ said Christian Krieber, European RFID distribution manager, Texas Instruments. ‘We are impressed by their knowledge and specialist technical support which gives us great confidence and builds on our successful relationship with the Abacus Group.’

Texas Instruments’ product range includes transponders with low, high and ultra-high frequencies for a variation in read ranges and use with different materials. RFID tags are available as buttons, cards, keyrings, glass beads and inlays, and the readers include chip level products, modules and complete reader systems.
