Tectonic claims wireless inspection first

Tectonic is claiming a first for its K2 series of print inspection systems, which have the ability to wirelessly transfer 22 mega bits of image data per second to a remote console. This is achieved with Tectonic’s own embedded implementation of the industry standard 802.11b communications protocol, and allows the print manager, from any PC in the factory, to log into any installed K2it to check the press performance and the quality of the print being produced.  ‘Image transfer, K2it to PC is fast, neat and wireless, and needs no special cabling or expensive installation,’ says the manufacturer.
