Third Edale flexopress for Data Print
Data Print has installed its third Edale flexopress. The label printing company started business in 1999, initially subcontracting label printing work, and began their own label printing operation in 2000.
‘Estonia is a small market and we had to make sure that we invested in a press which is right for our market: there is no point being carried away with an “all singing all dancing press”,’ explained Priit Utso, owner/managing director of Data Print. ‘What counts is that we can deliver excellent print quality with the shortest possible delivery time to keep our customers happy and at the same time remain profitable so that we may grow the business and its services to our customers.
‘Before deciding for the five color UV flexo Alpha press we also looked at larger, modular flexopresses, but realized that our six color E 250S already covers the top end of our label needs. Also, 75 per cent of our jobs need one to five colors, so what we needed was a high quality press for short to medium size production runs. The short web path is a key factor and helps us to keep the waste down and gives us a cost advantage at the same time. We also anticipate a dramatic increase in production out-put because of the simplified print head design versus the older E 250S. The use of our existing toolings and options and the operator friendliness played another important part in our decision.’
Data Print was one of the three companies that took advantage of the offer to existing Edale customers prior to Labelexpo Europe, and the Alpha press was shipped directly to Estonia from the show.
