TI establishes RFID alliance with BearingPoint

Texas Instruments has announced an alliance agreement with BearingPoint, Inc., a business consulting and system integration firm. The companies will market RFID products and services to customers in the manufacturing, retail, life sciences, financial services and government sectors. Texas Instruments will be the primary supplier of EPC Generation 2 tags for BearingPoint's RFID-enabled customer applications.


"Our alliance with BearingPoint combined with our global expertise in developing standards-based RFID technology for a diverse range of applications will help companies reap the business rewards of their RFID implementations," said Julie England, vice president of Texas Instruments and general manager of Texas Instruments RFid Systems.


This relationship will leverage both firms' strengths for enhanced go-to-market and delivery capability. BearingPoint will provide services in consulting, systems integration, assessment, proof-of-concept, test management and program management. TI will provide its suite of RFID products as well as competencies in semiconductors, microelectronics engineering and RFID equipment manufacturing. Both companies will focus on enhancing market adoption with EPC-related RFID initiatives.
