More than 300 attendees gathered for TLMI’s Technical Conference, an association event held biannually in Chicago, Illinois. Over the course of two days more than 60 speakers led technical discussions and gave presentations involving expert panels comprised of industry converters, suppliers and end-users at the themed ‘Get Smart’ conference.

The meeting featured presentations that addressed those issues relevant to converters’ day-to-day operational issues and growth strategies. Topics included new prepress developments, TLMI’s LIFE certification program, substrates, digital printing, G7 color calibration, and printed electronics. Throughout the two-day conference presenting converters also offered a direct glimpse into their own operations, sharing anecdotes about production strategies and new technology implementations their companies have profited from.

Chairman of the TLMI board of directors, Frank Gerace of MCC, commented: ‘As narrow web converters the need to become more productive, more resourceful and more innovative top our strategic objectives and short-term goals. As managers and entrepreneurs in a constantly shifting marketplace, we need to Get Smart, and the TLMI Technical Conference continues to offer the industry a unique forum where industry members come together to share, to learn, and to grow. Given the economic climate of the past 18 months, this year might be one of the most important and timely events the association has ever sponsored.’
