TLMI members win world label awards

Eight converter member companies of the Tag & Label Manufacturers Institute (TLMI), won nine awards in the 14th World Label Association Awards Competition. The awards were presented at the recent TLMI Converter Meeting in Puerto Rico.


In the contest, the first-place winners in individual label competitions held by TLMI, the Japanese Federation of Label Printers (JFLP) and FINAT, which represents European label converters, are judged against one another in a variety of categories to determine the ‘world's best labels’.


McDowell Label & Screen Printing, Dallas, TX, won two awards in the ‘Flexo Cosmetics’ category for its ‘Frosted Marshmellow’ label, and in the ‘Multi-Process Color Process’ category for its ‘Naturally Aloe’ entry.


Banta Specialty Converting, Milwaukee, WI, was honored in the ‘Flexo Line & Screen/Tone’ category for its ‘Intek, 23HP, V-Twin OHV, Briggs & Stratton’ label;
Adams Label & Tag Ltd, Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, won in the ‘Flexo Color Process’ category for its ‘Salt Spring Vineyard 2002 Pinot Gris’ entry; and Spear, Mason, OH, was recognized in the ‘Screen Line & Screen/Tone category for its ‘Tradewinds Tropical Fruit’ label.


Label-Aid Systems, Madison, AL, won in the ‘Screen Color Process’ category for its ‘New England Coffee’ entry; Collotype Labels, Napa, CA, won in the ‘Offset Line & Screen/Tone’ category for its ‘Columbia Crest’ label; Renaissance Mark, Denver, CO, was honored in the ‘Flexo Wine/Spirits’ category for its ‘Crown Royal’ entry. Finally, Label Technology, Merced, CA, won in the ‘Non Pressure-Sensitive Any Process’ category for its ‘Amarige Bath Gel’ label.
