UK converter installs Mark Andy press

UK converter Systems Labelling has invested in an 8-color Mark Andy servo-driven flexo press with a web width of 17 inches. The new machine brings the company’s total to ten presses, all of which have been installed in the last six years.
Managing director Gwyn Bouch said: ‘The new press will significantly increase capacity to meet demand and provide our business with the room to grow. From a product development perspective we will also be able to run thinner gauge materials with PET liner adding value for our customers by driving down packaging weight and offering a recyclable alternative to traditional glassine liners.’
Dave Acott, quality and technical director, predicts the new press will provide ‘an additional 15 percent capacity producing a minimum of 25 million meters per annum. Coupled with a new inline die-cutting facility with turret rewind, this investment will provide choice and flexibility for our customers whilst developing the skill base of our production staff.’
