US converter to install Muller Martini VSOP offset press

Belmark, a US-based label and packaging converter, will install its second Muller Martini variable sleeve offset printing (VSOP) press in its Wisconsin facility by the end of the year. The VSOP web offset press can accommodate a wide range of paper, film and paperboard substrates.

Karl Schmitt, Belmark’s president, said: ‘This is our second VSOP. We’ve been very happy with the performance of the one we already have, and that has given us the confidence to purchase an additional one. We’re very confident in Muller Martini and their ability to service us and this equipment.’

The VSOP web offset printing press, which allows quick changeovers thanks to its sleeve technology, can be used for a wide range of applications including labels, flexible packaging and cardboard box printing.

Belmark serves a variety of industries including dairy, snack food, durable goods and pet food. It intends to use the VSOP offset press in the folding carton market. The press will be equipped with both offset and flexo capabilities, along with an automatic splicer, auto register control, EB curing and in-line die-cutting.
