UV pioneer passes away

On January 4 Joachim Jung, managing director of UV systems manufacturer IST Metz in Nrtingen, passed away at the age of 59 after a short illness.

Together with the company founder Gerhard Metz, he built the company with his vision, flair and passion from its beginnings in 1977 into an international group. This now consists of 13 companies and over 500 employees worldwide. He counts as one of the tireless pioneers of the UV industry, instrumental in this technology becoming successfully established in the printing industry. His special ability to build and maintain close working relationships with his business partners worldwide was a great benefit. With a leadership style showing his humor and humanity, he was able to inspire colleagues and business partners alike to work towards shared objectives. His optimistic outlook on life had a profound influence on creating the philosophy and culture of IST Metz and will continue to do so long into the future.
