Van Genechten orders second KBA Rapida 145

- Second Rapida 145 to join growing KBA portfolio in Polish plant

 

-145 chosen due to higher production output and faster make-ready time than 142 model

 

European carton producer Van Genechten Packaging has placed an order for a second KBA Rapida 145 large format sheet-fed offset press

 

The firm claims to be the biggest independent folding 000carton manufacturer in Europe. It was impressed with its first Rapida, and management of Van Genechten Packaging has now inked a contract for a second press.

 

The new machine is a seven-color coater version mounted on a 630mm (24.8in) plinth, and will go to VG Polska in Chelmek.

 

Along with a speed-enhancement package for raising the output to 17,000sph, it will incorporate a DriveTronic SIS sidelay-free in-feed – a feature that is unique to this press type in large format – and a new-generation ErgoTronic Professional console with integrated ErgoTronic color control.

 

Van Genechten’s Polish factory already operates a Rapida 142, and since business in Poland is growing fast, the group decided to install new equipment there.

 

It chose a Rapida 145 because it has a higher production output and can be made ready even faster than the 142.
