Varlink signs distribution deal with Zebra Technologies
Varlink, the York-based distributor specializing in the rugged PDA and mobility space has signed a deal to handle Zebra Technologies' mobile printers, as well as their industrial and desktop printers. Varlink also distributes the complete range of Zebra direct thermal, thermal transfer and mobile labels, as well as wax and resin ribbons.
Mike Pullon, managing director and founder of Varlink commented: 'the Zebra products we're distributing are suitable for any market where people need to produce a label remotely for a product or a receipt, perhaps for a delivery. The healthcare industry might use it to prove that a shipment of drugs has been delivered.' He claimed that the rugged PDA market is beginning to expand at a faster pace and added that, 'people are buying PDAs to do one job and then finding that it can do other things. We get a lot of resellers asking us if PDAs can do printing and scanning.'
To meet these requirements, Varlink has recently added the HP iPAQ Pocket PCs to its line up as well as accessories such as the Pretec SDIO card mounted barcode scanners and Grabba sledges transforming legacy or new generation iPAQs and PDAs into enterprise data capture tools.
'The type of resellers we want to work with are those with field force automation solutions already, and those with good data capture skills that want to move into the rugged PDA space,' said Pullon.
