Wit-Color Digital Science & Technology Co., Ltd in Shanghai, China, has achieved Xaar approved status for its range of Wit-Color solvent inks for use with Xaar 128 printheads. This is the latest Xaar approval of a Chinese solvent ink manufacturer and recognizes that Wit-Color ink meets Xaar's exacting standards for digital printing to produce consistent jetting performance when used with the Xaar 128 printhead.

This approval is an important accomplishment for Wit-Color. The company manufactures the Ultra range of digital printers, which incorporate Xaar 128 printheads, for domestic and global markets.

In order to gain Xaar approved status, Wit-Color's solvent inks were subjected to a comprehensive range of tests. These include materials compatibility, printhead lifetime testing, print performance and extended reliability testing.

Dr Jill Woods, ink product manager at Xaar, explained: ‘Our approval programme offers long-term cost benefits to end users by providing approved ink solutions that have undergone demanding tests that ensure reliable jetting performance and optimum printhead life. Working with our OEM manufacturers, such as Wit-Color, we can ensure that inkjet printers deliver consistent performance for high-quality print applications.’
