Star Publishing and Hiflex announce cooperation in JDF integration

Star Publishing of Bblingen, Germany, which specializes in media production, and the MIS provider Hiflex, headquartered in Aachen, Germany, will work closer together in the field of JDF integration. The commitment to these joint developments for interfacing Star’s ‘Sprint’ software system and Hiflex MIS will be ensured by customer installations.


‘JDF integration is capable to rendering far more than only the streamlining of internal processes in the printing industry. The aim is the efficient integration of the complete value-added chain which reaches from the print buyer to the printer and then to delivery. In this process, JDF is the key technology,’ said Philip Glasbrenner, consultant print & new media at Star Publishing. ‘With the help of our JDF-capable Sprint Software the open and standardized communication between our customers, the print buyers and their suppliers in print production is feasable.’


Star Publishing and Hiflex stated that they have already started a significant realty integration project for the JDF-networking of their systems in cooperation with an exisiting Sprint user from the automotive industry and C. Maurer Print and Publishing of Geislingen, Germany. This JDF connectivity is used in the area of automotive instruction manuals.
