WS Packaging acquires Business Graphics Printing

WS Packaging Group has acquired Business Graphics Printing, which specializes in offset printing and production of instructional booklets and inserts.
Business Graphics Printing is an offset printer of product literature booklets, which are a critical component in end-use applications that have strict regulatory requirements for product information, such as in the pharmaceutical industry. It also produces technical literature for major appliance and outdoor equipment markets. The company was founded in 2003 and is based in Knoxville, Tennessee.
‘Under the leadership of Charles Gaut, president, and Randy England, vice president, Business Graphics Printing has established itself in a leadership position on the basis of its overall technical competence and capabilities in offset printing of booklets and multi-fold inserts,’ said Rex Lane, CEO of WS Packaging. ‘They have a partnership mentality that has allowed them to continue to grow and deliver expanded capabilities. Their innovative solutions create value and are further defined by an ongoing commitment to well-established lean manufacturing processes.’
Business Graphics Printing has 22 employees and operates in a new 13,500-square-foot facility that opened in 2007.
‘Our lean manufacturing process fully complements the overall services offering of WS Packaging Group,’ said Charles Gaut, president of Business Graphics Printing. ‘We’ve built Business Graphics Printing on meeting the specialized offset needs instructional booklets and pamphlets require. Adding these capabilities to the WS Packaging portfolio creates a broader opportunity to serve customers from a single-source platform.’
‘Without a doubt, this is a very solid cultural fit between our two companies,’ said Randy England, vice president, Business Graphics Printing. ‘Our collective resources will allow us to fully leverage a complete solutions approach to meeting the needs of our customers.’
The lean manufacturing processes and systems Business Graphics Printing has established fit well with the WS Packaging Impact Business System, a model that drives decision making throughout the company. The new approach applies change through lean practices that positively impacts the company, its employees and its customers.
