X-Rite consolidates offices in the UK
X-Rite, Incorporated, a global leader in color measurement, has announced another phase of its integration plan with GretagMacbeth following its July acquisition of AMAZYS Holding AG.
X-Rite will consolidate operations in the UK by closing Preston Brook, the former GretagMacbeth UK sales office, and moving employees to Poynton, X-Rite’s UK sales office. Employees at both locations will assist with the transition and began working together from Poynton on October 9, 2006.
Michael Smyth will become UK and Ireland sales director for X-Rite, a position he held for three years with GretagMacbeth before its July acquisition by X-Rite. Smyth will continue to manage the UK office, oversee key accounts, and be responsible for all sales channels in the UK and Ireland.
Earlier in his career, Smyth served as Northern sales manager for Printing Techniques/AGFA. He also spent six years as sales manager for Mitsubishi Corp. and 13 years in various production and sales roles with Birmingham Post and Mail, a newspaper publisher.
‘Maintaining two sales offices in such close proximity is confusing to customers and adds needless cost to the running of the business,’ said Mike Smyth. ‘Working together in one location will help us provide better support to all of our customers.’
