Xeikon introduces ‘Print Protector’ digital print finishing

Xeikon has announced the launch of the Xeikon Print Protector, a new device claimed to make digitally-printed matter stand up to the handling of traditional finishing and mail-sorting systems. The Xeikon Print Protector applies a water/wax/silicone oil emulsion on both sides of the digital print. This emulsion forms an invisible protective layer that makes all Xeikon printed documents stand up to the wear and tear of everyday use, while Xeikon claims that it will keep colors bright and accurate. The protective coating also reduces the build-up of static charges. The Xeikon Print Protector is compatible with the complete range of Xeikon print engines and can be used in different modes (sheet, web or stand-alone) to meet each printer’s specific needs.
