Inovar Packaging Group has acquired Kiliper Corporation, a Midwest-based producer of stretch sleeves, roll-fed labels and printed film, broadening its product portfolio and regional manufacturing footprint.

Kiliper is a second-generation, family-owned wide-web printing and converting business serving short-to-medium-run regional and national customers across food and beverage, household chemical, pet food, industrial and janitorial/sanitation markets. Siblings Tom Kiliper and Lindsay Maysent, who own and operate the company, will remain as co-presidents following the acquisition.

'Kiliper meaningfully expands our platform into stretch sleeves, roll-fed labels and printed film applications, while complementing our existing manufacturing capabilities,' said Jeff Brezek, CEO of Inovar. 'Just as important, Kiliper brings a strong, values-driven culture centered on customer partnership, quality and long-term relationships.'

Swiss Scantrust has acquired New Zealand-based Trust Codes Global, extending its presence into the New Zealand and Australian markets while deepening its capabilities in anti-counterfeiting, product traceability and consumer engagement.

The acquisition integrates Trust Codes' assets and customer base, strengthening Scantrust's position in verticals including infant nutrition, food and beverage, and wine. The move combines Trust Codes' regional expertise with Scantrust's international technology platform, which serves some of the world's largest brands.

Stratus Packaging Group has acquired Colmar-based Freppel Imprimeur, bringing the European label and packaging manufacturer to more than 520 employees across nine production sites with turnover exceeding 100 million EUR.

'Since the creation of the Stratus Packaging Group, our ambition has been to develop both organically and through external growth, while respecting the fundamental principles that still guide us today: a strong sense of belonging, overall performance and continuous improvement of our employees,' said Isidore Leiser, CEO of Stratus Packaging Group.

Founded in 1968, Freppel Imprimeur employs 60 people and operates a 5,000 sqm production facility. It specializes in self-adhesive, dry and wraparound labels as well as commercial printing, with capabilities in combined offset and screen printing, flexography, digital printing and integrated prepress. Finishing capabilities include hot and cold foil stamping, embossing, laser engraving and varnishing. The company serves food, beverages, wine, spirits and luxury markets.

The acquisition gives Stratus Packaging Group new development opportunities in Alsace, eastern France and Germany, while strengthening its presence in the wine, spirits and luxury segments where conventional and digital technologies complement each other.

'This merger quickly proved to be an obvious choice, as Freppel Imprimeur and the Stratus Packaging Group share common values: family-owned businesses, the same spirit of innovation and investment, commitment, customer service and team complementarity,' noted Denis Maciuk, managing director of Freppel Imprimeur.

Stratus Packaging Group serves food, beverage, medical, pharmaceutical, cosmetics and industrial markets with a product range that includes sleeves, in-mold labeling, stretch sleeves, RFID labels and flowpacks. It holds ISO 9001, BRCGS, FSC and EcoVadis certifications.

Henkel has agreed to acquire the Dutch-based Stahl Group for a purchase price of 2.1 billion EUR (2.4 billion USD), which is majority-owned by the French Private Equity firm Wendel SE.

Stahl is a global player in high-performance specialty coatings for flexible materials, serving leading brands across automotive, fashion and lifestyle and packaging markets around the world.

The portfolio comprises leather finishing coatings, performance coatings as well as high-performance paper packaging and graphics coatings. The company employs around 1,700 employees and generated adjusted sales of approximately 725 million EUR (856 million USD) in fiscal year 2025 with a balanced regional footprint.

‘With the acquisition of Stahl, we will further strengthen our Adhesive Technologies business unit in line with our strategic agenda for purposeful growth. It will enable us to expand into the attractive adjacent category of specialty coatings with product offerings in core as well as in new end-markets, driving further growth in our Adhesive Technologies business unit. Together with the recently announced intention to acquire ATP Adhesive Systems, we have agreed to two significant M&A projects, adding up close to one billion euros of sales and substantially advancing the growth potential for our world-class Adhesive Technologies business,’ said Henkel CEO Carsten Knobel.

Mark Dorn, executive vice president and responsible for Henkel’s Adhesive Technologies business unit, added: ‘Stahl operates an asset-light, know-how-based and service-driven business model with a high degree of customization, making it a great strategic fit for our business. The company offers a complementary portfolio serving various customer segments, many of which are already served by Adhesive Technologies. Furthermore, it provides valuable complementary technology and R&D capabilities that will enable us to bring more innovation to our customers. With majority of the revenues generated through environmentally responsible water-based solutions, Stahl will underpin our sustainability commitments.’

The transaction is still subject to certain conditions, including mandatory consultation processes, regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.

Hueck Folien has acquired WaveFront Technology, adding micro and nanostructure origination capabilities to its security film portfolio and establishing a development and production site in Los Angeles.

The acquisition brings Hueck Folien a partner with more than 30 years of experience in developing and manufacturing optical-grade microstructures. The Paramount, California site employs 30 people and will operate as a fully integrated development and production location within the Hueck Folien Group.

'We have long envisioned partnering with a global leader in the banknote and security document industry,' commented Chris Rich, CTO of WaveFront Technology. 'We believe Hueck Folien embodies the ideal combination of market leadership, technical depth and collaborative culture to elevate the considerable technology WaveFront Technology has developed over the past 30 years.'

The move allows Hueck Folien to internalize future technologies and secure long-term strategic independence. 'The expertise and IP portfolio of security features of our new colleagues in Los Angeles is vital for the further development of Hueck Folien,' according to Christoph Steger, CEO of Hueck Folien. The company will continue collaborating with various partners and manufacturers of originations worldwide.

Hueck Folien currently supplies security features for one-third of the world's currencies, including the Euro and Swiss franc. The acquisition expands its offerings into luxury packaging, trading cards, lighting and special optical applications.

Company founders Chris Rich and Joel Petersen will remain with WaveFront Technology to ensure continuity and preserve expertise. Hueck Folien will support integration with regular on-site presence from its Baumgartenberg headquarters.

The acquisition follows the November 2025 commissioning of a high-vacuum metallization facility at Baumgartenberg, part of Hueck Folien's ongoing investment in cutting-edge technologies.

The Autajon Group has integrated Quality Label, a Dutch label converter specializing in food-industry applications, thereby expanding its presence in the Netherlands.

Founded in 1997, Quality Label operates from Terschuur and holds BRC certification for its labeling products. The company will continue operations as Autajon Quality Label, maintaining its workforce and production standards.

The Daetwyler Group has acquired Cheshire Anilox Technology, adding anilox roller manufacturing to its existing doctor blade and ink production capabilities.

The acquisition complements Daetwyler's portfolio through its Daetwyler Swisstec division, which manufactures doctor blades, and Rotoflex, which develops inks and coatings for flexible packaging and security applications.

'Our in-depth understanding of processes has been the basis of our success for decades. Through the acquisition, we are expanding our technological expertise and thus creating tangible advantages for our customers. This acquisition is an important step in reliably meeting future requirements and actively driving the development of the industry,' explained Ralph Daetwyler, CEO of the Daetwyler Group.

Cheshire will operate as an independent company within the group, retaining its workforce and corporate structure. The company currently serves markets in England and the EU.

'The integration into Daetwyler's global sales structure is an important step for Cheshire. Together, we can open up new markets and expand our expertise with anilox rollers, doctor blades, inks and coatings in a targeted manner,' noted Sonia Arcos, managing director of Cheshire.

The group plans to establish anilox roller production in the US using Cheshire's expertise to serve the American market locally.

CCL Industries has signed a binding agreement to acquire Advanced Safety Technologies and its subsidiaries dba ALT Technologies, a privately owned provider of covers, wraps and seals for automotive airbags, along with durable labels for automotive and industrial markets. ALT operates manufacturing facilities in the Netherlands, Romania, China and Mexico.

Sales for the trailing twelve months ending November 30, 2025, were approximately 67m USD with an estimated 11.3 percent adjusted EBITDA margin. The debt-free, all-cash purchase consideration, subject to customary closing conditions, is approximately 32m USD. The transaction is expected to close during the second quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory procedures.

Geoffrey T. Martin, president and CEO of CCL Industries, said: 'We have known ALT and its management for over 25 years and followed them as they developed into a global leader in the airbag industry. The acquisition will create a new Automotive Safety business unit within CCL Design, and we look forward to welcoming the talented ALT team to our company.'

Butterfly acquires ePac Packaging

Butterfly Equity has completed its acquisition of ePac Holdings from an investor consortium including Amcor and Indevco North America, marking the Los Angeles-based private equity firm's first platform investment in the packaging market.

ePac, founded in 2016, specializes in digitally printed flexible packaging for consumer-packaged goods customers, with a focus on food end markets. The company operates 14 facilities throughout the US and Canada, built around its proprietary ePacONE technology platform, which enables order-to-demand production across its entire network.

The incumbent leadership team, led by CEO and co-founder Virag Patel, will continue to operate ePac and has retained a significant ownership interest in the business.

'Over the past decade, ePac has redefined the packaging model by putting the most advanced technology in the hands of the world's most innovative brands. By partnering with Butterfly, we enter a new phase of acceleration. This partnership allows us to continue disrupting the industry while leveraging Butterfly's connectivity throughout the food and beverage ecosystem,' stated Virag Patel, CEO of ePac.

'We're thrilled to partner with the ePac team as Butterfly's first platform investment into the packaging market, a critical component of the food value chain. Our deep and specialized expertise in food end markets will enable ePac's growth while reinforcing its commitment to outstanding customer service for the leaders and innovators in food and other categories,' commented Vishal Patel, partner and head of investment team at Butterfly.

In April 2021, Amcor, an Australian-American, UK-domiciled global consumer packaging company, confirmed a strategic investment of up to USD 15 million in ePac Flexible Packaging, including a minority ownership interest in the company and funding for one or more ePac sites.

A year later, Amcor made a further strategic investment of up to USD 45 million in ePac Flexible Packaging to increase its minority shareholding in ePac Holdings.

Most recently, Pac Flexible Packaging confirmed major expansion and technology investments across its European network. Significant upgrades are underway at ePac facilities in Lyon, Innsbruck, Silverstone, and Poland.

Butterfly was advised by Kirkland & Ellis on legal matters and William Blair on financial matters. Baird acted as financial advisor to ePac, with Greenberg Traurig serving as legal counsel. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
